THERE IS A WAY OF ESCAPE | 1 CORINTHIANS 10:13

OUR STORY

A way of escape.
A renewed sense of possibility.

We believe every woman and girl deserves to be met with dignity, compassion, and a supported path forward.

Our mission

Her Way of Escape Foundation is a faith-centered nonprofit committed to supporting women in Ghana who are transitioning out of prostitution, sexual exploitation, trafficking, and unsafe circumstances, as well as teenage girls who have experienced sexual abuse or exploitation.

Through compassionate outreach, professional counseling and therapy, spiritual support when desired, safe referrals, skills development, education, employment assistance, mentorship, transitional support, and survivor-centered programs, we help women and girls move toward safety, healing, stability, dignity, independence, and purpose.

Our vision

We envision a Ghana where every woman and girl affected by sexual abuse, prostitution, exploitation, or human trafficking has access to safety, healing, opportunity, and a supported path forward.

The values that guide us

Dignity

Every person deserves respect, without judgment about her past or present circumstances.

Choice

Support is survivor-centered, with voluntary participation and space for individual decisions.

Safety

We prioritize welfare, confidentiality, careful referrals, and safe partnerships.

Opportunity

Healing and practical support belong together: education, skills, and pathways toward independence.

Our faith foundation

“A way of escape.” — 1 Corinthians 10:13

Our Christian faith is the inspiration for our name and mission. Spiritual support is offered when desired. No woman or girl must pray, convert, participate in religious activities, share her story, appear in media, or meet donors to receive assistance.

MEET THE FOUNDER

A personal story.
A purpose to serve.

“My mother was part of my way of escape. Now I want to help make sure another woman or girl has one too.”

Her Way of Escape Foundation is more than an organization I wanted to start. This mission is personal to me.

There was a time in my life when I was introduced to prostitution through the relationship I had with my daughter's father. At that point in my life, I believed that if I gave him what he wanted, maybe he would love me more, choose me, and want me. What I thought I was doing for love opened a door into a life that was never meant for me.

I also experienced domestic violence and know what it feels like to need a safe way out.

Through different seasons of my life, my mother has been my way of escape. She has been the person I could call, the person who helped me find safety, and the person who reminded me that there was somewhere else I could go.

As I began thinking about women and girls who may not have that person, one question stayed with me:

What happens when she doesn't have a mother, family member, friend, or safe place to run to?

That question is part of the heart behind Her Way of Escape Foundation.

I want this foundation to become part of the answer for the woman who wants to leave prostitution but doesn't know how, for the woman escaping violence or exploitation, and for the teenage girl who has experienced sexual abuse and needs to know that what happened to her does not determine the rest of her life.

Her Way of Escape is not about judging how a woman arrived where she is. It is about meeting her there and helping create a pathway forward—with safety, professional counseling, practical support, opportunity, dignity, and, when she desires it, spiritual support.

My Christian faith is at the center of why I believe so strongly in this mission. 1 Corinthians 10:13 speaks of God providing ‘a way of escape.’ Those words became more than the inspiration for our name. They represent what I want every woman and girl we encounter to understand:

There is a way forward. Your story is not over.

My mother was part of my way of escape.

Now I want to help make sure another woman or girl has one too.
